The disciplines have many different writing styles two of which I will discuss are the humanities and biology. Pack prints describes the difference between the two beautifully saying that the writing is not as concrete and structured as other disciplines and in some ways is more personal. The humanities attempt to answer more than just one question, they attempt to answer the whys and the how’s whereas writing in the biology field they still tell a story, but they just lay the facts out in front of the reader and do not inherently say their opinion. Biologists follow a certain structure and the writings within the field are usually following the same format and are more concrete in the structure. The different fields of studies have different ways of writing and the specific way of writing for each field fits the field for a reason. If you wrote a paper like a humanities major and turned it in for a scientific paper it would be ill received and likewise if you wrote a paper like a biologist and turned it in for a argumentative essay it would confuse your audience and would not translate very well. In conclusion all fields have different writing styles but regardless of the field you are in you are a storyteller and you have a specific audience that you are trying to target to get some sort of point across. Writing is like clay in that it can be molded for any situation that it needs to be molded for.
