Project 4: repurposing
In this portion of our project, we had to take our subject and topic that we had previously written an essay about and repurpose the text into another medium and genre. I had decided to take my text and topic of fossil fuel and the temperature rising and transform it into a social media post with the mission to target individuals on the internet who would then share my post and then get the attention of a famous climate activist or politician or news outlet. when I wrote my essay my targeted audience was instead my peers and scholarly individuals. the process for me was very interesting in terms of taking the information I already had and deciding what would be the most influential and fit the best for the platform I decided to transfer my work to. I also had to decide how long I wanted to make my posts and what social media outlet specifically I wanted to spread my message to. in the end I decided to make five posts to Facebook on a separate page from my personal social media account. although i had minimal interaction and sharing of my post I still was able to learn quite a bit throughout this process mainly being how to consider what information is best suited to specific audiences and how to present said information in certain platforms. in my paper i provided many more stats and quotes and logos/ethos where on my social media post I seemed to lean more towards the pathos so as to strike up emotion on the person who is reading my post and make them want to spread the message and share it on facebook and perhaps get them thinking about why we as humans have been treating the earth the way we do and why we have been taking everything on earth for granted.
